BERLIN ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCY (BERLIN AiR) 

The BERLIN AiR offers selected filmmakers the opportunity to gather international experience and make industry contacts, bringing together young filmmakers from Berlin-Brandenburg and partner regions .

The programmes with France, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Italy and Mexico are exchange programmes. Filmmakers from these countries come to Berlin and filmmakers from Berlin-Brandenburg travel in exchange. The filmmakers from Turkey, Sub-Saharan Africa, Palestine and Lebanon are invited for residencies in Berlin.

The residencies in Berlin are organised and guided by the NIPKOW PROGRAMM which also oversees the curriculum of each of the selected residents. The award covers travel costs, accommodation, a monthly allowance and professional support including networking in the film industry.  

The residency Guanajuato - Berlin enables a filmmaker from Guanajuato to live and work for three months in Berlin. In this way, the filmmaker from Guanajuato receives a unique opportunity to develop skills and become familiar with the German film industry. He/she will get to know Berlin and thus Germany in all its many facets, and will gain insight into the German media and film scene. The programme is oriented toward the needs of the fellowship recipients. Representatives of Germany's film and media industry and cultural institutions are available to serve as mentors. The stay is organised and guided by the NIPKOW PROGRAMM.
